Dr. Padma Sudhi is a famous poet, author, and Sanskrit Scholar since 1955. Born during World War II, she was a post-graduate student of Sanskrit in the University of Delhi. At an early age, she wrote poetry, learnt music at Gandharva Maha Vidyalaya, painted, and conducted song recitals at All India Radio's Children's programs. As a teenager, she was awarded the first prize at the hands of Indian Prime Minister Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru, for the best memoirs of All India Educational Tour. She received her Ph.D. degree from University of Pune and published three volumes from her dissertation titled -'Aesthetic Theories of India'. She has published 18 books in Hindi and English, fiction and nonfiction. She was awarded five scholarships in India and America.
